STUDENT CARDS

Borrowers between the ages of 12 and 17 are eligible to apply for a Student Card at Metcalfe County Public Library without a parent present or in possession of an adult card. Young adult borrowers must complete a student card application in full and return the form to the library. Applications without a valid parent/legal guardian signature will not be accepted. Library staff will contact the parent/legal guardian to confirm provided information.

All policies regarding establishing a patron record in good standing, lost cards, circulation length, requests and renewals, and overdue, lost, and damaged items apply. However, loan limits for young adult borrowers will be restricted to books only, with a maximum of two books checked out at any given time. For full borrowing privileges, including computer use, a parent or legal caregiver must physically come into the library, sign the permission form for computer use, and possess an adult card in good standing.
