Library cards are issued FREE to anyone (age 18 & older) with 2 valid forms of ID (one containing a picture) and both containing proof of current address at. Patrons under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or legal guardian with a valid library card present. The parent's name will be noted on the child's record as the person responsible for materials checked out on the card.

The checkout periods for library materials by registered users are set as follows:
Books: 2 Weeks
Magazines: 1 Week
Audio Books: 1 Week
DVDS: 7 Days with a limit of 5 DVDs per Household. DVDs may only check out on an adult’s library card.
Registered users can request no more than 5 items at any one time through the library’s website. Items immediately available will be pulled from the shelves and be waiting at the circulation desk for user pick up. For items with multiple requests, the user’s name will be placed on a reserve (or hold) list in the order the requests are received. Reserved materials will be circulated on a first request—first serve basis. If requested materials are not picked up within seven (7) days after notification, the items will be re-shelved or the next person on the reserve list will be notified.
The library has public access computers available and free WiFi throughout the building. The library requires any patron under 18 to have a parent or legal guardian sign an Internet Safety Policy before using the Internet. User access to library computers is limited to one hour per day. Printing service is available with a cost of 20 cents per page after the first 5 pages.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is available to any library user with a current library card in good standing with MCPL. Users must have no outstanding charges or overdue materials of any kind. The loan period for ILL materials is determined by the lending library. MCPL does not charge for this service; however, the lending library may impose a fee. If so, that fee will be passed on to the user. In the event of loss or damage while the item is in the user’s possession, the user will be responsible for replacement and/or repair costs as determined by the lending library. All ILL materials must be checked out by the user. A maximum of two ILL items may be checked out at any given time. Items must be picked up within five (5) business days of notification that the materials have arrived at MCPL.Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the suspension or termination of a user’s ILL privileges.
